We finally got to El Paso to visit Jennie in the Earlham College Border Studies Program.
El Paso and Ciudad Juarez are in the middle of the desert.

Kate and Jennie are volunteers at Las Americas.

Dropping Meg off at the Stanton St. bridge. The US does not staff this bridge, so you can go to Mexico here, but you can't come back.

Jennie's classes are at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). It's architecture is inspired by the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Here is Jennie crossing the border to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Juarez is the largest city in Mexico's largest state, Chihuahua. Here is the image of Chihuahua in Jennie's room.

Here, Jennie's host mom, Idy, makes "tuna," a cactus fruit, of the genus Opuntia

Here is Jennie in her room.

Women of Ciudad Juarez remember those women who were murdered or disappeared with crosses on a pink background. There are too many.
