Mauritanian Awards

On November 28, 2011, the President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, announced awards to recognize members of the Mauritanian Community of the United States. These six honorees were chosen for being distinguished and successful in their occupations and for being role models for all Mauritanians. This evening, Mohamed Lemine EL Haycen, the Ambassador of Mauritania in Washington, DC, invited the Mauritanian Community in the United States to his residence for a celebration to commemorate Mauritania's 51st Independence Day, which was November 28, and to present Medals of Honor to these individuals on behalf of President Aziz.
